How to Create a New File in GIMP
Follow these steps to create a new file in GIMP:
- Open the GIMP application.

- Select the orientation, such as Portrait or Landscape.
- Adjust other settings as needed.
- Click the OK button to create the new file.
How to Save a File in GIMP
Follow these steps to save your work in GIMP:
- Click on the File menu.
- Select Save or Save As.
- Choose the location where you want to save the file.
- Enter the file name.
- Save the file with the “.xcf” extension (this is the default format used by GIMP).
- Click the Save button.
Note:
The .xcf format saves all layers and editing information, allowing you to modify the file later.
How to Open an Existing File in GIMP
Follow these steps to open an existing file:
- Click on the File menu.
- Select Open from the list.
- Browse and select the file you want to open.
